International Josui Kaikan was developed in Japan by Kancho Hiroshi Harada, a former chief instructor of New International Karate Ashihara. Josui Kaikan expanded globally with branches in many countries. International Josui Kaikan was brought to South Africa and the African continent by Shihandai Marius Conjana in the latter part of 2011. South Africa has to date managed to open branches in Gugulethu as the Shibu dojo, Kleinvlei, Eersterivier and Heideveld in the Western Cape.
